Birthday Cards..

It's been a total gong show lately and I haven't been making cards..thought I would give the latest Colour Challenge from Jaydee over at The Paper Players a try..Pastels are out of my comfort zone but wanted to use some of the retired Stampin Up pattern paper and one of my fave retired stamp sets ~ Stippled Blossoms. A couple cards for this year's card goal..249-2 = 247 cards to go...

With Love to Moms...Honourable Mention

Well Watercooler Wednesday's challenge is an ode to Moms for the upcoming Mother's Day. I've been wanting to try the pleated paper fold on a card and finally bit the bullet...tossed in Just Add Ink's floral image and colour combo from their challenge inspiration picture: Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry, and Garden Green. Stamped the roses from one of my fave sets ~ Stippled Blossoms...dry embossed the Sweet Sugarplum layer with the Elegant Dots embossing folder. Added my fave butterfly from the soon to be retired Papillion Potpourri. Stamped the Sentiment from the Oh So Succulents with Rich Razzleberry and layered with the Sweet Sugarplum punched label. Finished the card with some teeny pearls and a strip of silver glimmer paper. Voila!!!

Thought I would give the Watercooler Wednesday's Challenge a try...this time around..it's Heidi's Something Feminine ~ Anything Goes. I've been meaning to try the pop-up book card and to spice things up...added a couple more challenges: Just add Ink's challenge ~ Just add Stitching and  Sunday Stamp's sketch challenge..the hat trick combo! ;) Colour combination is Mint Macaron, Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry with Delightful Dijon..
Pulled out the Stippled Blossoms...one of my fave retired sets..Finished the card with some vellum winged bees..Voila!

EDIT: Woot woot...after coming home from working all day...I just found out that Annette from Sunday Stamps chose my card as one of the Top Cups for Sunday Stamps' sketch challenge. Totally made my day and I am looking forward to the next Sunday Stamps' challenge. :)

happy birthday....it's a Winner!!

Another hat trick challenge to spice things up: Watercooler Wednesday's Marsha's colour challenge ~ Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, Emerald Envy, Mint Macaron, , Rich Razzleberry & Peekaboo Peach,  Fab Friday's sketch challenge and Just Add Ink's  Choose Two challenge: Flowers & Butterflies....
Stamped and masked the flowers with the Blushing Bride and Rich Razzleberry inks, and the leaves with Mint Macaron and Emerald Envy inks...added the blinged Butterfly instead of the bow on the sketch.... Voila a Birthday card off my to make list.

A Grateful heart....

Found a couple new to me challenge blogs and thought I would give them a whirl: TGIF Challenge's inspiration challenge and Sunday Stamps' sketch challenge. TGIF Challenges` inspirational photo led to the floral colours: Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron.... Loads of stamping happening here...Dictionary background stamp, Stippled Blossoms, sentiment from Pursuit of Happiness, Papillon Potpourri, Because You Care, and Summer Silhouettes... 6 stamp sets later...Voila!

Warmest Wishes....

So when I saw Create with Connie and Mary's colour challenge: Blackberry Bliss, Soft Sky and Smoky Slate or Silver...I had to give it a try as the Design Team's samples were GORGEOUS!! So I started with the colour challenge and than checked out the new to me..Pals Paper Arts' sketch challenge ....started with a Whisper White base..silver layer...embossed and stamped Soft Sky layer some two step stamping with Blackberry Bliss...fussy cutting..silver embossing powder..and Voila..

For a True Friend...

This definitely was a challenge...combined ColourQ's colour challenge: Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Old Olive and Pale Plum..with Freshly Made Sketches' sketch challenge. The roses were stamped with Wisteria Wonder (the closest colour to Pale Plum that I have on hand) and Old Olive inks. Stamped my sentiment on vellum  and wrapped around the right edge and stamped the mosaic pattern with blushing bride on the vellum strip at the bottom edge of the stippled blossoms..really difficult to see..as the blushing bride is so light in colour.... Needed more blushing bride so I added the tiny butterflies with the mini pearls...

Stippled Blossoms....

Been crazy busy this week and missing the card challenges...I finally have some time to chill and all I want to do is make a card...today`s card is a combo challenge..because that`s how I roll... Create with Connie and Mary`s colour challenge: Rose Red, Soft Sky & Sahara Sand and the Watercoolers`sketch challenge..which I flipped sideways and the element trio is stacked instead of scattered...cut up some more of my retired designer pattern paper and Voila....

LIVE the LIFE...

So another challenge completed...Can You Case It's Clean and Quick Challenge CYCI#57...so here's my take on the challenge...Four stamp sets...Elegant Eggplant, Crumbcake and Basic Black. Can't believe how quickly this all came together...the quickest card I have ever made..

Definitely a *girly* card....

So I had the Retrosketch`s sketch challenge whispering at me and than my cardmaking bestie found this awesome colour challenge from Always Playing with Paper's The Challenge : Melon Mambo, Basic Grey, Basic Black & White.... Just love the challenges as we take the opportunity to 1) INK up our beloved stamps and 2) experiment with our ink pads and 3) make a dent into our cardstock stashes...before the colours retire...

My fave thing about this particular card...the single layered stamped butterfiles on vellum...

It's Been Awhile...

I know it's been forevah since I posted...been busy...busy...busy... I am fortunate though that on an occasional Tuesday, I get to hang out with a cardmaking bestie ~ Penny, and we chat, laugh and sometimes whip up a card or two... Yesterday, she was working on her weekly challenges and I decided to join her in the challengse....
So this is my take on two challenges.. Just Add Ink's Colour Challenge: Smokey Slate, So Saffron, Basic Black and White and CanYouCaseIt's Sketch challenge...
While I hesitated about the colour combo..I am really pleased with how my card turned out and I love the Stippled Blossoms set...and the font of the Wetlands stamp set...
